First Post in Philly

We made it! Despite the long and challenging flight from Phoenix, we actually arrived and are starting to settle in here in Philadelphia. It's hot and sticky (we don't have A/C yet), kind of dirty and with tons of bugs, but also beautiful and green and interesting. Our stuff arrived Friday and the movers finished unloading it that night. The kids really like playing around the boxes and with their tricycles inside on the wood floor. We've driven downtown, up to historic Wayne, and we rode the subway to the campus and saw the fabulous old buildings and Mike's new cubicle. We haven't unpacked a whole lot yet, but we'll get there! I only found the camera this morning, so we don't have a lot of photos yet, but here are our first few:

This massive beehive is hanging in our front yard. It is about the size of a basketball! The maintenance guy will take it down soon, and I'm glad because it's freakin' me out a little bit! This is like the bee Hilton Hotel!

Here's Jack hanging out in his bouncer.

Here's the kitchen looking totally out of control. This is going to take forever!

This must be such an exciting time for your family. Wow, the subway! I have never ridden on one. Does Mike have to ride it to work everyday?

Yes, and he rides it through some pretty scary areas, too!

Your house is beautiful, and I'm jealous of all the green you get to be around. I'm sure the unpacking will happen faster than you expect... hopefully :)
That beehive is freaky! It's amazing the things little creatures can build.

Glad you're there safe and sound.

I'm glad you made it there without a horror story to tell! I don't like the look of that hive...it looks so thick...and permanent! Hope you get everything put together soon...good luck!
