Tonight we carved pumpkins with the kids and it was a blast! I LOVE carving pumpkins, and I think this activity gets more fun every year that the kids get older. I had the kids draw their jack-o-lantern faces first on paper, then on the pumpkin with a marker. I faithfully carved out what they drew, and the results were spectacular! The kids were surprisingly reluctant to get their hands slimy at first, but by the end they were pretty orange.

Those pumpkins are amazing! You guys are so talented!
LOVE them! I love that you let the kids design their own pumpkin faces, I might have to do that next year.
The pumpkins look awesome! What a great idea to have the kids draw the faces on paper first; I tried to let Molly draw a face right on the pumpkin but it didn't turn out too well.
I love your pumpkins and costumes. Wow, you are talented. I think I'm going to steal your jack-o-lantern smile for next year. The kids' are great too.
