Amelia's first dance class was hilarious! She got all dolled up in her new dance outfit, a gift from Grandma Debi, and we met her second cousin Ellie there. Amelia was very tentative at first, and she cried a little. All the parents (Daddy, Sarah, and Colin included) waited in this tiny little stifling hallway, all crowded around one teensy little window. Everyone was so nice and friendly, and you got to know whose kid was whose right away. Amelia was VERY glad to have Ellie there. Every time I went in to comfort her she would say, "there's Ellie, SHE will make me feel better!" Also, Ellie is awesome in the class, and totally does everything the teacher directs, so she sets a great example for Amelia. Amelia did well and followed along through warm ups and stretching and a little of a routine, but she really just watched the class from the wall closest to the door through the last twenty minutes or so. Overall, I was totally happy that she did as well as she did. She actually was better than a few other girls who cried with their mommies the whole time. I think after a few more classes she'll get comfortable and be better able to participate. I am VERY proud of her! Thanks again to Grandma Debi for the the wonderful classes and outfits! A recital will be coming soon!
Here she is in her fabulous new outfit!

Here she is warming up. The cute little girl in light blue is cousin Ellie.

Here are the dancers heading to their drink break. My camera was starting to die so it was a bit burry!

Wow, that stretching picture is awesome! She really looks like she's trying hard to stretch if not her legs, at least her neck! What a cutie!
Colin provided the entertainment for all of the moms in the hall outside the classroom. I think he made every single one of them pick up his little basketball at least once!
What a big day for such a little girl. It must have been so much fun for mommy and daddy (and Sarah). It's bummer, I was hoping Colin would be a dancer to -- I guess basketball will have to do.
Also, I agree with Sarah - the neck stretching is awesome. I always wanted a long neck - maybe that would help?
They looked so cute! I'm glad you took pictures-it's so exciting they get to be in the class together!
